The BusinessGreen Leaders Awards 2017 is today officially open for entries, as we once again look to celebrate the most exciting and innovative green businesses, projects, executives, and campaigners in the UK.
To mark the 10th anniversary of BusinessGreen later this year, the BusinessGreen Leaders Awards on the evening of 28th of June will be bigger and bolder than ever, bringing together hundreds of the UK’s leading sustainability executives, clean tech entrepreneurs, and green investors.
The awards are open to any business or organisation with a presence in the UK and the deadline for entries is 5pm 17 March 2017.
Businesses and individuals can enter more than one category through our revamped website, including new awards such as Sustainability Report of the Year and Transport Project of the Year, and established awards such as Renewable Energy Project of the Year and the coveted Company of the Year.
The shortlist for the awards will be announced during the week of April 3rd and successful applicants will have until June 5th to confirm their attendance at the awards on 28 June.
As in previous years, the BusinessGreen Leaders Awards are free to enter. However, BusinessGreen does require all shortlisted entries to purchase a minimum of two tickets to attend the glamorous black tie awards ceremony. Attendees will enjoy a networking drinks reception, three course meal, and a glittering awards ceremony, while all finalists and highly commended entries will receive a certificate to mark their achievement at the BusinessGreen Leaders Awards.
The theme of this year’s is progress, as we look to highlight the transformation the green economy is undergoing as clean technologies and sustainable business models enter the corporate mainstream.
James Murray, editor-in-chief at BusinessGreen, urged companies to highlight their many green achievements. “The green economy has faced significant challenges over the past 12 months, but while the political backdrop has been turbulent many businesses have simply got on with delivering the sustainable projects and initiatives that they know are critical to their future success,” he said. “The BusinessGreen Leaders Awards provides the opportunity to demonstrate to your peers, customers, and partners how pioneering sustainable business models are continuing to make hugely impressive progress.”
Now in their seventh year, the BusinessGreen Leaders Awards are the largest and most prestigious green business awards in the UK, bringing together leading politicians, CEOs, sustainability executives and entrepreneurs to celebrate the best of the green economy at a glamorous awards ceremony at The Brewery in Central London.
Previous winners include high profile figures, such as Lord Rose, Sir Ian Cheshire, and Caroline Lucas, leading blue chips such as PwC, RBS, Bupa, and O2, and innovative clean tech firms and green start-ups such as FIA Formula E, Gnewt Cargo, Good Energy, and Hubbub UK.
The BusinessGreen Leaders Awards will be judged by our panel of esteemed judges, including experts from across the green economy and previous winners of the BusinessGreen Leaders Awards. As in previous years, the panel will be split into two judging sessions in order to avoid any conflicts of interest among the judges.
“The BusinessGreen Leaders Awards provide a unique platform to highlight the many successes of the green economy, and we want to hear from you and your organisation about the great progress that is being made to enhance our environment and build the resilient, prosperous, and sustainable economy every business wants to see,” added Murray.
